Rally raises £500 for charity !!!

A very warm thank you to all the competitors and sponsors of this 2 day event , we had a really good weekend as well despite the poor weather forecast. The modellers from the Northeast obviously enjoyed themselves too !.

Ripmax was very well represented by Don Hall who put in many hours of solid flying, especially on the Saturday, his enthusiasm for the sport is obvious, he is a great ambassador for Ripmax.

We were treated to 2 gas turbines ( Rob Wardale and Rob Rowbottom) who put in some first class display flying with the Kangaroo and Vulcon aircraft. The on-board smoke system being very effective against the blue sky.

The helicopter side was very well supported with excellent display flying from Vario UK and Dave Sumner - this youngster is one to watch for the future. John Farran and Dave Bryan came to support us - even though they didn't fly this time. Watching the World Cup on a flying day? shame on you!.

A very big thank you to all the guys who took part, donated money or prizes or just gave us their time to help make the event a success.
Special thanks to Nancy for the excellent BBQ and to John Bridge for his commentary throughout Sunday.

Overall standards were very high and the flying was exemplary throughout the weekend. Local interest was lacking a little , maybe the clash with Weston Park Show.

The prizes were generously supplied by our sponsors and the Blue Max Trophy has found a new home till 2003.
